The Jays is a brand‑new service opening in 2025. We provide accommodation and support for up to seven adults with Autism, Mental Health Needs, Learning Disabilities and Acquired Brain Injuries. * Job Role: Senior Support Worker
* Location: Merthyr Tydfil, CF47
* Salary: £14.40 – £15.00 per hour
* Contract Type: Full‑time, Permanent
* Hours: 35 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
* Provide leadership and guidance to a team of Support Workers, ensuring delivery of high‑quality, person‑centred care.
* Promote independence, dignity and well‑being for individuals with various care needs.
* Support individuals with daily tasks such as personal care, household duties, budgeting and accessing community activities.
* Assist with the development and implementation of individual care plans.
* Liaise with external agencies and professionals to secure the best possible care for residents.
* Take part in team meetings, supervision sessions and provide coaching and mentoring to Support Workers.
Key Requirements
* Minimum of 1‑2 years’ experience as a Support Worker in an adult care setting.
* A Full UK driving license and vehicle access; travel between locations is required.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* A compassionate, patient and empathetic approach to working with vulnerable adults.
* Experience in supervising or leading a team.
