Retail Business Services (RBS) supports Amazon’s Retail business growth worldwide through three core tasks. These are:
1. Selection: RBS sources, creates, and enriches ASINs to drive GMS growth.
2. Defect Elimination: RBS resolves inbound supply chain defects and develops root cause fixes to improve free cash flow.
3. Operational Support: RBS supports operational processes for worldwide Retail teams, especially where there are gaps in the tech stack.
The tech team in RBS develops automation leveraging Machine/Deep Learning to scale the execution of complex tasks that currently require human skills. Our solutions ensure Amazon's catalog information is complete, correct, and comprehensive, providing a great shopping experience for customers.

Key Job Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Application Engineer (AE) with diverse skills. As an AE, you will:
1. Work directly with business teams to support existing applications and gather requirements for scalable solutions.
2. Translate business and functional requirements into concrete deliverables and build scalable systems.
3. Maintain the health and robustness of services.
4. Implement and maintain solutions, collaborate with engineers, create automation scripts, monitor operations, and handle ad-hoc requests.
5. Understand business impact of support decisions and drive operational efficiency through SLAs, metrics, monitors, procedures, and documentation.
6. Participate in on-call support, addressing issues related to monitoring, infrastructure, and bugs.
7. Onboard clients onto the platform and educate them about features and capabilities.
Minimum qualifications include:
* 2+ years of software development or technical support experience.
* Experience troubleshooting and debugging systems.
* Experience with Unix.
* Scripting skills in modern programming languages.
* Knowledge of web services, distributed systems, and web application development.
* Experience with hardware & software RAID, REST web services, XML, JSON.
