Days and Hours of Work:
Monday - Friday, 09:00-17:00
Days of working are negotiable, flexi time is applicable, and starting and finishing times are flexible.

Home / Hybrid Working Consideration

Please Note:
All home/hybrid workers must live in the UK. Where an application for home-working is supported, it will be subject to a satisfactory trial period. Employees will be expected to attend Council offices for the duration of induction, and be on site in East Lothian workplaces, as required. Employees with a hybrid working arrangement in place will be office based and able to work from home, with permission, on an ad hoc basis.

Job Details
To actively contribute to achieving the aim of Protective Services in promoting, protecting and enhancing the health, safety and wellbeing of people living, working and spending time in East Lothian and to support Council Services in managing the risks associated with delivering and maintaining services in our local communities.
To assist and actively support the Team Manager in carrying out the delegated duties undertaken within the Environmental Protection Team which includes
• Investigations and interventions in relation to complaints of statutory nuisance
• Monitoring and regulation of noise.
• Monitoring and review of Local Air Quality Management
• Licensing of Houses in Multiple Occupation
• Environmental Health matters related to pest control, Clean Air regulation, Licensing activities, arrangements for the deceased and private sector housing conditions.
