Data Centre Engineer – Acton Location: Work on a 24x7x365 rotating shift pattern (4 days on / 4 days off, 4 nights on / 4 nights off); maintain accurate tracking of all Data Centre assets and inventory; plan and carry out installation, relocation, and decommissioning of IT hardware and network equipment in line with Data Centre standards; manage structured cabling and physical infrastructure across the Data Centre; comply with health and safety policies, quality standards, and site-specific security procedures.
Daily Operations and Projects:
Maintain and utilise Data Centre toolsets to support efficient operations; oversee Data Centre governance and ensure high standards are upheld; collaborate with facilities providers to optimise energy efficiency; support the daily running of the Data Centre, including installations, changes, and maintenance; participate in service improvement initiatives and major infrastructure projects, including power system upgrades and replacements; conduct basic server configuration (IDRAC, iLO); perform hands-on tasks such as racking, stacking, patching, and cable management; manage complex inter-rack and inter-room cabling to support reliable IT and end-user connectivity.
Prior experience working in high-risk environments and data centres; familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Remedy (desirable); solid understanding of infrastructure technologies and networking concepts; proficiency in Microsoft Office and IT service management tools; flexible with regard to shift work; If you’re an experienced Data Centre professional looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity in a high-profile environment, we’d love to hear from you.
