The Opportunity
This role involves leading activities supporting facilities and equipment maintenance at the Ridings Point facility, ensuring technicians and contractors have the necessary tools, resources, and training.
The successful candidate will oversee proactive and reactive maintenance within the Ridings Point distribution centre.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead a team of 3 Technicians
2. Serve as key user for CMMS system and weekly planner
3. Act as first escalation point for breakdowns in the Distribution centre
4. Plan and organize contractor work following the annual compliance and maintenance schedule
5. Coordinate with contractors and issue permits for site activities
6. Follow up on statutory inspection work
7. Ensure timely completion of critical calibration tasks
8. Promote a safety and compliance culture
9. Manage spare parts ordering and inventory
10. Use Ariba / SAP to raise facilities purchase orders
11. Perform hands-on completion of PPMs
12. Coordinate with quality teams and support change control processes
13. Lead root cause analysis and investigations of incidents
14. Support site CAPEX plans
15. Author SOPs for facilities team at Ridings Point and Harlow
16. Maintain 5S standards in facilities areas
17. Participate in site meetings and communicate effectively with stakeholders
18. Conduct contractor inductions and annual reviews
19. Lead team meetings in the absence of the technical manager
20. Identify new suppliers and service providers to add value
21. Monitor email alerts for critical systems and respond promptly
22. Analyze reports from BMS and EMS systems and react accordingly
23. Lead annual reviews of all facilities RA’s and COSHH assessments
Who We're Looking For
Do You Have?
* An Engineering Apprenticeship or Degree
* IOSH Managing Safely certification
* Knowledge of PUWER / LOLER regulations
* Experience managing a team of Technicians or similar
* Experience managing contractors and suppliers
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CMMS, and CAFM systems
* AutoCAD & IPAF (3a & 3b) certifications would be desirable
