About the role
We have a fantastic opportunity for Senior Contracts Engineer to join our Ground Engineering team in Leiston, Suffolk as part of the Sizewell C project.
Role purpose: Responsible for monitoring site performance and costs, ensuring the correct execution of ground improvement works, and preparing QA packs for our client.
What you'll be doing
The successful candidate will have the following key responsibilities:
* Managing internal resources and responsibilities;
* Ensuring works are constructed according to contract, design information, drawings, specifications, and the Project Management Plan;
* Producing and reviewing construction methods statements to ensure efficient and safe construction;
* Preparing and reviewing site documentation such as PMP, PVPMP, ITP, and Construction Phase Management Plan;
* Understanding and applying procedures from the project Health, Safety, and Environmental plans, promoting a safe working culture;
* Preparing and reviewing risk assessments, supporting, and driving behavioral safety on site;
* Monitoring progress, reporting, and achieving goals for assigned works;
* Anticipating and resolving engineering-related problems;
* Managing construction records, O&M manuals, and as-built drawings;
* Participating in client meetings and pre-contract meetings.
Who we're looking for
The following qualities/experience are essential:
* Effective communication skills, both oral and written, across all levels;
* Strong computer skills, especially in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
* At least 5 years' experience in the construction industry;
* Experience delivering civil engineering contracts on various scales;
* Ability to manage multiple teams and scheme costs efficiently;
* Knowledge of Health and Safety management, including Behavioral Safety;
* Leadership, communication, and influencing skills to achieve targets;
* Relevant certifications such as SSSTS or SMSTS.
The following qualities/experience are desirable:
* Experience working for a piling, ground engineering, or civils subcontractor;
* A Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification.
