About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity within a multi-billion turnover business near Reading. We are looking for a dynamic individual who can come in and just add value!
Key Responsibilities:
* Support with balance sheet accounting and assurance.
* Manage all statutory accounting and reporting.
* Oversee systems and process transformations.
* Lead compliance, risk management, and controllership.
* Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
* Assist in budget preparation, financial forecasts, and variance reporting.
* Coordinate regulatory reporting requirements.
* Research and resolve technical accounting issues.
* Lead month-end and year-end close processes.
* Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
* Manage tax filings and compliance with reporting requirements.
* Develop and document business processes and accounting policies.
* Take ownership of balance sheet controls, ensuring accurate and timely reconciliations, and addressing discrepancies.
* Implement processes to enhance efficiency and reliability of balance sheet management and reporting.
* Assist in building a high-performing finance function.
* Build reports and manage data sets using Excel.
Requirements:
* ACA Qualified or equivalent with strong academics.
* Proven experience leading a sizable finance team.
* Strong background in financial reporting, balance sheet control, and financial processes.
Your Profile:
* Fun, people-centric individual with a passion for financial accounting.
* Comfortable commuting to the outskirts of Reading 2-3 days a week.
Competitive daily rate of £450-£500, commensurate with experience.
