 
        
        Do you take pride in fixing problems and helping customers get back on the road? Our client is looking for a hands-on, customer focused Field Service Engineer to join their team!
You’ll be out and about, servicing, repairing, and maintaining specialist vehicles across customer sites and company workshops.
Hours: 45 hours per week | between 08:00 and 17:30 | Monday to Friday | Flexible working hours available
What You’ll Do:
 * Diagnose and repair faults on vehicle chassis and mounted equipment
 * Perform servicing and maintenance to a high standard
 * Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections and ensure compliance with Department of Transport regulations
 * Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve technical issues
 * Accurately record all work using PDA software and maintain service documentation
 * Travel to customer sites across the UK — occasionally at short notice
 * Maintain a safe, tidy, and professional working environment
 * Communicate effectively with customers, delivering exceptional service and support
 * Follow all health and safety procedures and complete risk assessments as required
What We’re Looking For:
 * NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance
 * Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer, HGV Mechanic, or Workshop Engineer
 * Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities
 * Knowledge of vehicle technology systems and compliance standards
 * Self-motivated and confident working independently
 * Excellent communication and customer service skills
 * Flexible with travel and working hours
 * Competent with basic computer systems and technical documentation
 * (Desirable) Experience with electric vehicles, IRTEC qualification, or HGV Class 2 licence
