About the Role
This is a dynamic, public facing role, focused on reducing fire risk and supporting the most vulnerable members of our communities. In a role where no two days are the same, you will often work independently, visiting people in their homes and using your professional judgement to assess risk and determine the most appropriate actions.
You will:
* Deliver Home Fire Safety Visits and other prevention activities
* Work within a range of environments, including private homes, sheltered accommodation and supported living
* Identify fire risks and provide clear, practical advice to reduce those risks
* Install safety equipment such as smoke alarms
* Recognise safeguarding concerns and take appropriate action
* Work collaboratively with internal teams, local authorities and partner agencies
* Support youth inclusion and early intervention programmes
* Maintain accurate records
* Manage your own workload, respond to changing priorities and feel confident making decisions in the moment
* Work with vulnerable individuals and/or in complex circumstances, requiring a calm, adaptable and professional approach
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
* Confident working independently and making decisions in real time
* Comfortable engaging with a wide range of people in their own homes
* Able to assess risk and take appropriate actions
* Resilient and professional when handling challenging or sensitive situations
* Highly organised, with the ability to manage and prioritise their workload
* A clear and effective communicator, able to adapt their approach to different audiences
* Committed to making a meaningful difference in the community
* Accountable for the quality and accuracy of their work
Experience and Qualifications (Required)
Essential Requirements
* English and Maths GCSE at level 4 to 9 (grade C or above), or equivalent
* Experience of engaging with, and providing advice and guidance to members of the public
* Experience of determining solutions to risks within people’s homes
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Full UK Driving License
Anything else you need to know…
This is a mobile, public facing role which requires daily travel across Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes. A service vehicle will be provided during working hours.
The role may require occasional evening or weekend working.
