Systems Configuration Officer

Closing date: 26 April 2026.

Provide hands‑on configuration for clinical systems following approved designs and SOPs. Build, test, document and deploy configuration items including forms, letters and templates, master data, roles and permissions, clinics and diaries with accuracy, safety and auditability. Support lighter‑weight SharePoint configuration for service areas such as simple page builds, lists and libraries, site navigation and permissions, and access requests, working within Trust governance and patterns. Support UAT, go‑lives, and communicate clearly with users and colleagues.


Main duties of the job

* Analyse change requests; follow agreed designs to build configuration with correct naming, validation and logic.
* Create/update letters and templates; configure roles/permissions and clinic/diary setups within approved models.
* Maintain master tables and reference data; raise data quality issues to the appropriate teams.
* Write and execute test scripts; record results and defects; support UAT and remediation activities.
* Prepare deployment notes, rollback steps and configuration records; assist with releases and post‑implementation checks.
* Produce and maintain configuration documentation (screenshots, version history) in the central library.
* Contribute to knowledge articles and quick reference guides; support super‑user and floor‑walking activities at go‑live.
* Follow ITIL‑aligned processes for change and release; protect sensitive data and comply with safety and IG requirements.
* Collaborate with Support to hand over changes and ensure support‑readiness (FAQs, known errors, workarounds).

Qualifications

* Level 3 IT qualification or relevant professional experience or professional qualification in a relevant computer‑based discipline.
* Understanding of system development within the NHS or comparable commercial experience in a related field.


Experience

* Experience working in team environments.
* Experience of working with IT/Digital teams with technical ability.
* Experience of devising solutions to meet agreed specifications and requirements.


SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES

* Ability to learn, work to and create standard protocols and procedures.
* Experience of RiO systems development.
