Overview
NHS East Genomic Laboratory Hub (EGLH) delivers the National Genomic Medicine Service for a population of 10 million in the East of England, providing diagnostic, prognostic and predictive testing for rare diseases and cancers. EGLH is recruiting a bioinformatician to support development and implementation of clinical‑grade software for high‑throughput, high‑quality clinical genomics. Experience in testing, deployment and DevOps principles is valued. Candidates without clinical bioinformatics experience are encouraged to apply, as training and support will be provided.
Responsibilities
1. Validation and verification of clinical bioinformatics software.
2. Documentation and support of clinical bioinformatics software.
3. Continued improvement of clinical bioinformatics tools, processes and workflows for delivery of genomic diagnostic services.
4. Planning and management of bioinformatics software deployment, working closely with technical, scientific and clinical functions of the laboratory.
5. Investigation and resolution of complex bioinformatics issues, including examination of input & output data and associated processes, and communicating findings to technical, scientific and clinical staff.
Qualifications
Skills and experience in testing, deployment and DevOps principles are valued. Candidates with relevant experience will be preferred.
