As Lead Business Analyst, you will support the delivery and definition of the strategic vision within the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), making decisions which have a measurable impact on the effectiveness of the business.

You will lead, inspire and manage a team of Business Analysts who are at the heart of the delivery of the Agency’s digital services.

The Lead Business Analyst will possess extensive knowledge across all services within their domain, stay on top of the latest digital transformation trends, and will continually seek out and shape future areas of innovation. You will manage the team to use these opportunities to improve and maximise the value of the product.

Top Responsibilities

* Lead the design, implementation and management of a comprehensive suite of business analysis techniques, standards and practices for a domain (Product Family or Change Portfolio).
* Lead, prioritise, plan and manage the business analysis activities within the domain to ensure that appropriate business requirements are developed within time and quality constraints.
* Lead in developing DVLA’s Business Analysis community, promoting DVLA’s Business Analysis services and capabilities throughout the Agency and across wider Government Organisations, acting as a leader and ambassador.

About you

This role calls for a strong leader who can inspire and motivate teams, ensuring they remain engaged while delivering high-quality services. You will have experience in a similar role within a complex digital environment and either hold, or be willing to work towards, a BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis or an IIBA Certification of Competency. You are skilled in designing, implementing, and managing business analysis practices, with a focus on embedding agile and technology analysis methods to support delivery. Planning and leading business analysis activities to produce timely business requirements will be a key part of your responsibilities.

You’ll have worked across all stages of the delivery lifecycle, bringing a strategic, solution-focused mindset and a willingness to challenge the status quo for greater efficiency. Passionate about understanding individual needs and improving processes, you’ll also demonstrate excellent stakeholder management and the ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams. As a role model, you will support career development for others while continuing your own growth. Strong analytical skills, persuasive communication, and confident decision-making are essential in this role.

Qualifications

BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis or a IIBA Certification of Competency in Business Analysis qualification or willing to work towards this once in post.
