Overview
This is an exciting newly established post that will be responsible for managing all operational aspects of specialist palliative care activity, including the new Hospice@Home service.
The post will oversee operational activity and performance management of the service, ensuring the delivery of high quality, safe and effective services in line with national and locally agreed standards and that qualitative and quantitative targets are delivered in a timely way within the agreed resource framework.
Be responsible for managing all operational aspects of activity, referral and performance management and work in conjunction with the Service Manager to advance key targets of the Care Groups Performance Dashboard, Local Authority Performance Indicators (where applicable) and service development. Deputise for the Service as required and work autonomously using your own discretion. Have managerial responsibility for all administration and clerical staff across all sites within the Directorate.
Responsibilities
* Manage all operational aspects of activity, referral and performance management.
* Work with the Service Manager to progress targets on the Care Groups Performance Dashboard and Local Authority Performance Indicators (where applicable).
* Deputise for the Service as required and work autonomously using discretion.
* Provide managerial responsibility for all administration and clerical staff across all sites within the Directorate.
* Collaborate with the Directorate Management Team and Senior Officers to drive performance indicators.
* Represent the Directorate at key meetings and forums, feeding back relevant information to the Directorate Management Team.
* Provide effective leadership to develop and build networks and relationships.
Qualifications and Desirable Skills
* Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. Welsh language skills are not essential but are an advantage during shortlisting and selection. Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) speaking & listening skills or above are desirable for patient communications.
* Ability to manage complex and sensitive information with excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Experience in leading teams and coordinating administrative procedures to support care pathways.
Additional Information
* Contribute to and support effective communication across the Care Group.
* Develop and maintain effective systems of communication within the University Health Board, ensuring information and data reporting requirements are up to date and available as requested.
* Provide clear communication through chairing regular Team Leader meetings to support effective communication.
