Discharge Administrator

This is a Band 3 Administrator role within the Discharge Team and Transfer of Care Hub Team. The post holder will support the Operations Directorate and work closely with the multi‑disciplinary team to deliver high‑quality service, using clerical, communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.
Responsibilities
* Support the Operations multidisciplinary team in their day‑to‑day work.
* Act as point of contact with all levels of staff and outside agencies.
* Use independent judgement within procedural guidelines to manage the day‑to‑day running of the Operations team.
* Accurately input patient data into databases for reporting and assimilation of reports and data relating to patient discharges for BI and NHSE.
* Timely distribute updated patient information for ward requirements and multidisciplinary team meetings.
* Answer incoming telephone calls professionally in accordance with Trust IG guidelines.
* Complete tasks unsupervised and manage conflicting priorities in a time‑pressed environment.
* Produce ad‑hoc reports when requested.
* Arrange and manage external training projects relevant to changing discharge processes.
* Support the senior discharge administrator with urgent patient requests, complaints and admission timelines.
* Support the Head of Emergency Planning with minute‑taking and admin tasks.
* Complete tasks to specified time scales and standards, demonstrating excellent typing, clerical, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Be competent in IT programmes such as Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Teams and Patient Action Tracker.
Education, Qualifications & Training
* GCSE level or equivalent, including Mathematics and English at Grade C or above.
* RSA Stage II in word processing or equivalent.
Knowledge and Experience
* Experience in a busy office environment.
* Experience with telephone enquiries.
* Experience using computer systems, including Microsoft Office, in a working or academic environment.
Skills & Abilities
* Experience within an administrative environment within the last 3 years.
* Ability to meet specific deadlines.
* Confident working with Microsoft Office.
* Previous secretarial experience, including producing agendas, minutes and minute‑taking.
* Experience ensuring action points from meetings are progressed and followed up in a timely manner.
* Experience working in an operational environment prioritising tasks.
