We're seeking a hands-on and enthusiastic Maintenance Fitter to support the smooth operation of our UK-based waste management facility. In this role, you’ll maintain and repair essential machinery such as conveyors and excavators, ensuring everything runs safely and efficiently. Hours 6pm - 6am Monday - Thursday or Friday - Monday Key Responsibilities Maintenance: Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on a range of plant machinery, including conveyor systems, shredders, excavators, and more. Diagnosis and Repair: Troubleshoot machinery issues, diagnose faults, and perform necessary repairs, replacements, or adjustments to ensure optimal performance. Preventative Maintenance: Implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize equipment breakdowns and downtime. Safety and Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and environmental standards, including proper waste handling. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance activities, including logs of inspections, repairs, and spare parts inventory. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other maintenance staff and engineering teams to address complex issues and improve overall plant operations.Qualifications Relevant qualifications in plant maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in plant maintenance, preferably in a waste management or industrial setting. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of heavy plant machinery and associated equipment. Good communication and interpersonal abilities. Commitment to safety and environmental responsibility
