The Role
We very rarely go to market externally for Business Development Managers. When we do, it’s because we’re looking for top performers to join an already successful team.
This is a pure new business role. There is zero account management. Your focus will be identifying, engaging and converting new SME clients.
You’ll be responsible for:
* Generating your own pipeline through outbound activity (non‑negotiable)
* Working with supported leads and appointments to maximise conversion
* Engaging with business owners across a wide range of sectors
* Understanding client challenges and positioning commercially relevant solutions
* Managing your pipeline and consistently delivering against targets
This is no longer a field‑based role. Success comes from high‑quality conversations, strong activity levels, and the ability to convert consistently.
What We’re Looking For
We are only interested in proven, high‑performing B2B sales professionals.
* Strong track record in B2B sales (SME experience is essential)
* Demonstrated success in outbound/self‑generated sales
* Consistent overperformance against targets
* Ability to build rapport quickly and influence decision‑makers
* Resilience, pace, and a genuine drive to win
Please note:
* Performance will be assessed as part of the process (including P60s and performance data)
* Enterprise or large corporate sales experience alone is not aligned to this role. This is SME selling, high‑volume and fast‑paced
