Role Overview: We are seeking a Tax & Accounts Assistant to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to develop a career in accountancy and tax, working in a vibrant environment that supports professional growth. Reporting to a Tax Senior, you will assist with a variety of compliance and advisory tasks, gaining hands-on experience with a specialist client base, and working toward professional qualifications.
Responsibilities
 * Liaise directly with clients, developing strong working relationships and becoming a trusted point of contact.
 * Assist in client meetings alongside the Tax Senior, taking notes and preparing follow-up actions.
 * Prepare detailed calculations to support current and future year tax planning.
 * Undertake bookkeeping tasks for small and medium-sized limited company clients.
 * Prepare VAT returns and submit them accurately and on time.
 * Draft Corporation Tax returns under supervision.
 * Complete thorough personal tax returns for sports professionals, ensuring all deadlines and compliance requirements are met.
 * Communicate directly with HMRC on client matters, supporting the resolution of any queries.

Person Specification
Essential
 * Experience working in a practice accountancy firm, with exposure to accounts or tax work.
 * Basic understanding of tax codes and general tax concepts.
 * Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
 * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a friendly, approachable manner.
 * Ambitious and eager to build a career in tax and accountancy.
Desirable
 * A genuine interest in the financial aspects of the sports industry.

Pay and Schedule
Salary: £22,400-£30,000

Hours: 35 hours per week — Monday-Thursday 9am-5:30pm, Friday 10am-4pm
