Role summary
:
To deliver customers’ products to the required premises ensuring all customers receive exceptional customer service as part of a multi-drop delivery route. This is an exciting opportunity to join the team supporting a logistics contract of a leading UK manufacturer of rollers shutter doors. The driver will ensure that all products are transported safely to the customers’ premises, treating their freight as if it were their own. The role incudes a physical and manual element handling bulk items and components. Yourself along with a team of dedicated drivers already in place will load the vehicles in the AM onto multiple delivery vehicles and then proceed with completing deliveries. Politeness and customer service is an essential element to this role as communication with delivery customers will be a crucial part of the daily activities, you will build a report with customers as they take on regular deliveries and become regular faces within your delivery routine.
Key responsibilities
1. Represent DX and the customer in a professional manner at all times
2. Drive vehicles in a safe and legal manner ensuring compliance with all legal and company requirements at all times
3. All daily checks are undertaken ensuring defects are immediately reported and correct paperwork completed
4. Ensure all product are scanned using DX scanning equipment
5. Ensure all deliveries are loaded safely prior to leaving the depot
6. Observe DX procedures and policies at all times
7. Manage your routing to ensure premium and timed deliveries are achieved
8. Ensure the correct equipment and PPE, (personal protective equipment) is in good order and used at all times
9. Ensure all delivery and on road issues are reported to the traffic office immediately
10. Ensure the customer receives their deliveries in excellent condition every time
11. Deal with any customer issues in a polite and effective manner
12. Ensure collections are made in line with given instructions and times
Essential Criteria
13. Must hold C1 or above on licence with valid DQC and Tacho card
14. Maximum of 6 points on licence and no bans
15. Takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service
16. Ability to build a rapport with customers
