We are currently recruiting a Warehouse Assistant / Yard Assistant to join our busy roofing supplies warehouse in Wokingham. This is a full-time, permanent role with a well-established company offering stability, career development, and a strong team culture.
This position offers the chance to become part of a supportive, proactive team within the construction supplies sector. While previous experience is welcome, it's not essential-the company provide full training to help you succeed. If you are hardworking, physically capable, and committed to excellent service, we want to hear from you.
You'll be working with a variety of roofing and construction materials in an outdoor environment, managing stock, preparing orders, and interacting directly with customers. No two days are the same, and your contribution will be valued as part of our ongoing growth.
The company are looking for someone who demonstrates a strong work ethic, a positive and professional attitude, and a willingness to take initiative. You'll play a key role in maintaining an organised and safe yard and warehouse while delivering a high standard of service to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Loading/unloading deliveries (by hand or forklift)
* Stock sorting, grading, and movement
* Picking and packing customer orders
* Supporting customers on-site
* Maintaining a clean, safe working environment
* Flexibility to support other business areas when needed
What They're Looking For:
* A proactive, can-do attitude (essential)
* Warehouse/yard experience (advantageous but not required)
* Counterbalance Forklift licence (preferred, but training can be provided)
* Good communication, literacy, and numeracy skills
* A methodical, safety-conscious approach to tasks
* Strong customer service skills and team spirit
* Flexibility and reliability
* Own transport required due to a rural location as there are no suitable public transport services.
Hours:
* Monday to Friday: 6:30am - 4:30pm
* Occasional Saturday mornings: 7:30am - 11:00am (paid as overtime)
