Overview
Team Member is responsible for surgery scheduling, patient registration, TOS collections, medical records management, insurance verification and enters charges. Performs a variety of clerical duties that support front desk operations. Functioning as a team member, the staff is flexible in the work assignments, rotates to support all aligned processes when needed and assists with training. Requires utilization of simple to complex equipment. Utilizes established policies and protocols to perform a variety of procedures and at a level not requiring constant supervision of detail. Responsible for necessary quality control performance and documentation that supports accreditation initiatives. Complies with National Patient Safety Goals, HIPAA guidelines, and Corporate Compliance polices. Participates in quality and customer service programs and meets all annual training requirements.
What You Will Do
Organizes work and demonstrates expert knowledge of financial process/billing & coding procedures and performs independently without supervision.
Demonstrates the ability to oversee all operations of billing for department in accordance with policies and procedures
Patient Wait/Registration times are consistently maintained at optimal levels to enhance the patient experience.
Demonstrates skill set necessary to accurately and effectively utilize all registration/scheduling computer systems.
Consistently strives to increase knowledge and skill sets that support excellence in the work environment. Takes ownership and a positive approach in the training and support of team members. Consistently utilizes established communication pathways to support department operations.
Demonstrates flexibility to changes and adapts to varying work environments and assignments.
Accurately and efficiently enters data into computer systems for registrations, orders and other data entry responsibilities.
Departmental tasks align with procedural volumes/measurement. Workflow processes are executed accurately and timely to meet deadlines.
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or GED, (Required)
Bachelors Degree, Business Administration (Required)
Experience
7-10 years Revenue Cycle/Insurance/Medical Office Experience (in lieu of degree) (Required)
5-6 years Revenue Cycle/Insurance/Medical Office Experience (Required)
Licenses and Certifications
Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) - National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM) (Required)
