Job Description Job Title: Database Administrator Location: 100% Onsite at Norfolk Naval Base Clearance: Secret Key Responsibilities Security & Compliance: Ensure all MS SQL Servers maintain a 100% IA-compliant posture (STIGs, IAVA, Zero Trust). Lead C&A/A&A processing and maintain detailed change documentation. Performance Engineering: Maintain 99.99% availability and peak performance. Optimize slow databases, perform index tuning, and ensure bug-free, efficient T-SQL code. Development & Infrastructure: Manage SSAS (DAX/OLAP), SSRS, SSIS, and BI tools. Administer High Availability solutions (Availability Groups, Clustering) and SQL Agent jobs. Data Integrity: Execute daily backups and monthly restore validations to guarantee zero data loss. Cloud & Modernization: Oversee cloud migrations and infrastructure (Azure/AWS), aligning database architecture with evolving mission needs and industry trends. Operations & Reporting: Monitor system health, support monthly ASIs/outages, and develop POAMs for malfunctions. Provide technical mentorship and code reviews for developers and analysts. Job Requirements Education: Bachelor’s in CS/Engineering (or Associate’s 2 years additional experience). Experience: * 8 years as an MS SQL Server DBA with expertise in database theory and design. 6 years of advanced Transact-SQL and PowerShell. 4 years in Windows O/S, SAN, and Virtualization (Hyper-V/VMware). Practical experience in .NET programming (C# or VB.NET). Certifications: * IAT Level II (e.g., Security CE). MCSE: Data Management & Analytics (or current equivalent Microsoft path). Clearance: Active Secret Security Clearance.
