We are currently recruiting for an opportunity as a Part-Time Bookkeeper to join a family business based in Malton. A salary of £35,000 to £40,000 (pro rata), is on offer alongside 31 days holiday (including bank holidays and on a pro rata basis) with attractive Monday to Friday working hours, Christmas shutdown and further benefits. Hours can be flexible and part-time to suit the individual, as well as offering hybrid working. Ideally, we'd like to speak to people who can work 15 to 25 hours, per week, over 3-5 days, but other working patterns will equally be considered. This role covers a variety of duties including bookkeeping, as well as operations and lettings. The finance proportion of the role will take up 15-20 hours per week. If the successful candidate has experience in other duties or would like to have these are part of their role, this can extend to a role up to 25 hours per week, with some flexibility. As the Bookkeeper, you will report into the Owner of the business and will be responsible for day-to-day finance, including bookkeeping up to trial balance. You will also liaise with the external Accountant. Key responsibilities for the Bookkeeper will include: General bookkeeping including VAT, bank postings, etc. Bank reconciliation Sales and purchase invoicing Payment runs Credit control Monitor emails and respond to customer enquires arrange viewings A small part of the role will be conducting viewings and sign ups Ad hoc office duties when needed To be successful in this Bookkeeper opportunity you must: Have previous experience in a similar finance position, ideally within an SME Be able to work on your own initiative, as well as part of a small team Hold an AAT qualification or similar, or be QBE Have knowledge of using accountancy software such as Farmplan, Xero, Sage, Quickbooks, etc. with the capability to be able to learn new systems and processes quickly Be customer-focused and have excellent communication skills We would be keen to speak with individuals who are currently in an Accounts Assistant, Assistant Accountant, Finance Officer, Finance Manager or Bookkeeper role who are looking for a new challenge. You may already possess payroll knowledge or you may be looking for an opportunity to progress and develop your skill set. This role would also suit an individual who has studied or is currently studying their AAT qualification, but this qualification level is not essential.
