A well-established packaging manufacturing site is looking to strengthen its engineering team with the addition of a Multi-Skilled Engineering Technician at its highly automated production facility
This is an excellent opportunity to join a large-scale manufacturing operation where engineering reliability and fast response times are critical to maintaining production performance and customer service levels.
The successful candidate will be a strong electrically biased engineer with experience working within fast-paced FMCG, packaging, manufacturing, or process environments.
The Role
Working as part of a busy engineering function, you will be responsible for maintaining, fault finding, repairing, and improving a range of automated production and packaging machinery across the site.
Youll play a key role in reducing downtime, improving machine performance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the operation.
Key Responsibilities
* Attending machinery breakdowns and carrying out effective fault finding
* Completing planned preventative maintenance activities
* Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults on automated equipment
* Supporting continuous improvement and engineering projects
* Assisting with machinery upgrades, installations, and commissioning
* Working closely with production teams to maximise equipment reliability
* Ensuring all engineering activities are completed safely and efficiently
* Maintaining maintenance records and engineering documentation
What Were Looking For
We are keen to speak with engineers who have strong electrical maintenance experience gained within a fast-moving manufacturing or FMCG environment.
Ideal Background
* Time-served Multi-Skilled Engineer / Maintenance Engineer / Shift Engineer
* Strong electrical fault-finding skills
* Previous experience within FMCG, packaging, manufacturing, or process industries
* Apprentice trained, NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent engineering qualification
* Experience working with automated production or packaging machinery
* Ability to fault find on PLC-controlled equipment
* Siemens S7 PLC experience would be highly advantageous
* Knowledge of drives, sensors, relays, motors, pumps, valves, conveyors, and control systems
* Comfortable working within a fast-paced production environment
* Good communication and problem-solving abilities
