- ROUTE TO PARTNERSHIP Location: Hitchin, Hertfordshire Salary: Competitive, based on experience, up to £80k Work pattern: Hybrid working available An established and well-regarded firm in Hertfordshire is seeking a highly experienced Senior Litigation Solicitor to lead their busy litigation department.

About the Role: You’ll handle a complex and varied caseload, including: Property disputes Landlord and tenant issues Commercial litigation (including partnership and shareholder disputes) Boundary and neighbour disputes Professional negligence Insolvency and restructuring This position involves both strategic and hands-on responsibilities, including department leadership, mentoring junior staff, and active involvement in business development to grow the team and client base.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the Litigation department with strategic direction and hands-on casework Manage a caseload of complex and high-value disputes Supervise, mentor, and support junior team members Collaborate with other departments to ensure cross-practice success Drive business development and contribute to the firm's local and regional profile Maintain compliance and up-to-date legal knowledge Candidate Requirements: Minimum 7 years’ PQE in civil and commercial litigation Demonstrable leadership or supervisory experience Strong client development and networking skills Excellent communicator with a proactive and confident approach Proven ability to meet financial targets and manage files independently Ambition and commercial awareness What’s on Offer: Competitive salary, commensurate with experience 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays and Christmas closure Fee earner bonus scheme Hybrid working model Regular social and team-building events Health & wellbeing support (including Employee Assistance Programme and Perkbox) Funded training and career development opportunities Inclusive and supportive workplace culture
