Role Overview
Teaching Personnel are seeking dedicated, compassionate ALN Teaching Assistants to support learners across a variety of Additional Learning Needs (ALN) provisions in Swansea and Carmarthenshire.
This flexible supply role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people and want variety in their work while making a meaningful impact .
You will be supporting learners with a wide range of needs, including:
* Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
* ⚡ ADHD
* Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
* ♿ Physical disabilities
* Complex and multiple learning needs
Placements may include specialist ALN schools, PRUs, alternative provisions, and community-based settings ♂️️.

️ Key Responsibilities
As an ALN Teaching Assistant, your role will include:
* Providing 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual learners
* Supporting individualised learning and adapting activities to meet needs
* Implementing and reviewing Individual Development Plans (IDPs)
* Helping learners to develop independence, confidence, and life skills
* Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
* Assisting with personal care and mobility, where required
* Taking learners into the community to support life skills and engagement
* Working collaboratively with teachers, ALNCOs, therapists, and external professionals
* Building strong, trusting relationships to help learners reach their potential

Who We’re Looking For
We welcome applications from candidates who have:
* ✅ Experience working with ALN / SEND / SEMH
o This may include education, care work, youth work, or support roles
* A Health and Social Care qualification or similar (desirable but not essential)
* A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
* Flexibility to adapt to different settings and learner needs
* Confidence supporting learners with challenging behaviour
* A genuine passion for making a difference

* Enhanced DBS (Child Workforce) on the update service, or willingness to obtain
* EWC registration, or willingness to register

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
