An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Analyst professional to join our growing Digital Business Analysis Centre of Excellence (BACoE). The Digital Business Analysis Centre of Excellence strives to advocate and champion knowledge share of Business Analysis best practice, tools, and techniques, to drive innovation and continuous business process improvement.
Working on multiple complex client-facing programmes, the Senior Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in instigating and fostering robust professional relationships with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify and analyse business needs.
Typical projects may include:
Software selection, procurement, and implementation.
Implementation of standard Mace software solutions.
Office infrastructure setup and office moves.
Whole IT strategy delivery for a project or programme.
Information security projects including implementation of an Information Security Management System (ISMS) and certification to ISO27001.
Disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
Selection of out-source and managed IT services suppliers.
The Senior will direct in the analysis and resolution of client business problems by critically assessing information gathered through a range of elicitation techniques, driving implementation of significant business process improvement initiatives, and effectively articulating the rationale for change.
Through the orchestration of interviews and workshops, the Senior Digital Business Analyst will define, prioritise, and effectively document requirements to evaluate and deliver value-add solutions which are aligned with the strategic objectives and business needs of the client.
You’ll be responsible for:
5. Directing the facilitation of requirements elicitation activities to analyse, document, manage and validate requirements for major consultancy commissions.
6. Transforming business requirements into high-level user stories and detailed acceptance criteria.
7. Translating business needs into detailed functional specification documents and digital solution designs for reference by digital development teams.
8. Executing a wide range of analytical tools and techniques including process mapping, gap analysis, SWOT analysis, options analysis, wireframing and prototyping.
9. Autonomously develop comprehensive test cases based on defined requirements, supporting in user acceptance testing of potential digital solutions to ensure alignment with end user needs.
10. Cultivating relationships and interact professionally with a diverse range of stakeholder groups including executives and subject matter experts to achieve agreed outcomes and effectively manage expectations around scope, delivery, and timescales.
11. Developing a strong working knowledge of the client digital environment, strategic business goals, existing business processes and system architecture.
12. Partnering with stakeholders to identify and gain a concise understanding of business problems seeking to ‘engineer out’ existing limitations, conflicts and pain points.
13. Consulting with other members of the project team including the Project Manager, Data Engineer, Solutions Architect, Digital Development, Function leads and Subject Matter Experts to understand current data management and reporting practices.
14. Producing a suite of high-quality post-implementation handover documentation such as user guides and training materials.
15. Contributing to the setting of standard practices and processes for digital business services to ensure these are adhered to and best practice followed for continuous business process improvement.
16. Supporting the digital BA service line in developing resources, artefacts, and materials for the digital business analysis toolkit.
17. Undertaking smaller project tasks to support the general successful delivery of the client commission.
You’ll need to have:
18. Substantial previous experience in a project management role on medium sized or complex projects or managing smaller projects.
19. Experience in the construction delivery phase of projects.
20. MCIOB/MAPM/MRICS/MICE or local equivalent.
21. Tertiary qualifications in related (project management and/or construction related discipline), non-related degree or equivalent professional experience/apprenticeship, combined with a demonstrable intermediate level of role knowledge.
22. Appropriate construction skills certification scheme (CSCS) card (or local equivalent).
23. Proven successful experience in project management, managing medium sized projects.
24. Developed communication, presentation and project planning and development skills.
25. Developed budgetary oversight expertise.
26. Advanced proficiency in communicating, coordinating activities and collaborating with stakeholders.
27. Proven understanding of project management methodologies and practices.
28. Display strong communication and negotiation skills to support the client/customer focus.
29. Proactively manage internal budgets and fees, delivering agreed outcomes (where appropriate).
30. Proven competency that understands construction methodologies and sequencing.
31. Developed bidding skills.
You’ll also have:
32. Proven experience working within a Business Analyst capacity across a variety of digital transformation projects.
33. Formal business analysis certification (e.g., IIBA) desirable.
34. PRINCE 2, Agile, APM, CAPM or other relevant project management certification desirable.
35. Proven track record of supporting successful delivery of full project lifecycle IT large scale projects from initiation to deployment.
36. Extensive knowledge of recognised IT project management methodologies including waterfall and agile.
37. Organised self-starter, with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
38. Analytical, logical thinker with excellent attention to detail.
39. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise tasks accordingly.
40. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
41. Team orientated mindset, providing advice and guidance as required to support the overall team effort.
42. Proficient in Microsoft office packages such as Excel, Visio, and MS Project.
43. Experience of project delivery within construction sector beneficial.
