ISQ Recruitment is supporting a growing engineering business in Norfolk, looking to recruit a Workshop Team Leader to manage a small team of technicians in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. About the Role This is a workshop-based leadership role, overseeing the assembly and fitting of mechanical and electrical systems in a technical build environment. You'll be responsible for task planning, team coordination, and ensuring high standards of safety and output are met each day. The work is varied and often project-based, so you'll need to be confident working from technical drawings, handling parts and build schedules, and liaising with other departments to keep things moving. Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate the day-to-day work of a small team of technicians Support hands-on assembly and installation tasks as needed Conduct daily briefings and maintain safe working practices, including permit systems Allocate tasks according to build plans and delivery schedules Track progress and manage updates using spreadsheets and internal systems Communicate with Engineering, Procurement, and Stores teams Help maintain a clean, well-organised workshop Identify and support process improvements What We're Looking For Essential: Experience working in a technical or mechanical assembly environment Comfortable reading engineering drawings and work instructions Previous team leadership or supervisory experience Health & safety awareness, ideally with experience of managing safe systems of work Strong communication and task management skills Basic IT skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) Desirable: Background in automotive, aerospace, rail, or low-volume manufacturing Familiarity with parts tracking, tooling, or stores coordination Experience issuing permits to work or delivering safety briefings How to Apply Click Apply Now, or contact us directly: or 01603 369 500
