The Professional Affairs Manager - Medical EMEA will be responsible for elevating our scientific presence and capabilities at a regional level. They will plan and manage the development of clinical affairs activity & programmes in the EMEA region, ensuring that organisational objectives are met both regionally and in local markets, and furthering the thought leadership position of the organization within the scientific community.
They will bring robust credibility to our scientific messaging and ensure regional marketing and professional affairs materials are evidence based and compliant, they will develop and nurture KOL relationships, building on existing relationships and developing new ones.
The Clinical Affairs Manager EMEA will be an individual who has a very high attention to detail and enjoys critical analysis and review. They will be organised, driven and be competent at giving and receiving constructive feedback.
They must be comfortable working both alone and part of an extended team, and happy to manage stakeholders who may be senior or junior to them.
Essential Functions
* Lead the KOL development programme, to support the creation of a pool of new KOL speakers, advocates, and early adopters in local markets.
* Review all EMEA ‘master template’ marketing and professional affairs content to ensure compliance against professional affairs protocols.
* Support local market teams to understand compliant content creation principals relating to professional affairs protocols.
* Partner with the myopia team to drive thought leadership and elevate scientific credentials.
* Partner with Global Medical Affairs, to regionally oversee abstracts submitted to conferences.
* Author and support CVI EMEA employed 1st authors, to create novel poster and paper presentations for global conferences. Help to develop the medical writing skills of local and regional teams.
* Partner with brand marketing, and category and insights teams, to ensure market research and in-market assessments are conducted with ethics approval (when required), and research undertaken is conducted in a manner which allows the development of marketing claims.
* Develop new marketing claims based on local research, clinical studies, and externally published papers, which support regional marketing and professional affairs activity.
* Partner with global marketing and professional affairs teams to push scientific messaging relating to product, navigating IP legal, commercial legal, regulatory, and medical affairs stakeholders.
* Read and track global peer reviewed articles on CLs, summarising key messages in a quarterly regional update.
* Present with personal impact at key international professional and educational events on clinical topics.
* Hold competition accountable by challenging unsubstantiated or misleading claims/ messaging,
* Create and publish trade articles, advertorials, and non-peer review papers on clinical aspects of CLs. Support brand marketing and professional affairs teams in the development of trade articles which focus on product or category.
* Proactively influence and contribute to the annual planning process.
Experience
* A minimum of 7 years’ experience in optometry or ophthalmology.
* Advanced knowledge of medical writing and publishing peer reviewed content is essential.
* Experience of compliance/quality assurance review.
* Experience of designing and delivering training or education programmes to multilevel audiences · Experience delivering messages and presentations to large audiences
