Initially focused on delivering bespoke leading edge software solutions to our Cyber and Intelligence customers, this role will be part of a DevSecOps team responsible for delivering software changes and enhancements to Programmes across the RMS portfolio.
Tasks to include performing a range of software engineering tasks across the development lifecycle, including but not limited to:
1. Assisting with requirements analysis
2. Software design
3. Database design
4. Database development
5. Software development
6. Software testing
7. Integration and test activities in support of system upgrades and deployments
8. Operational Support
You will be expected to apply your knowledge of computer systems and software engineering best practices, and be responsible for ensuring software compliance standards are met using appropriate processes, procedures and tools throughout the software development lifecycle.
You will also be required to demonstrate an innovative approach to developing technical solutions to complex customer business/mission problems. Assisting with accurate estimating/planning to ensure that project milestones are met.

9. A solid knowledge of Agile software development, Oracle Database development, and an understanding of Java and the software development lifecycle is required.
10. Natural curiosity and imaginative problem solving skill. You might be the person who is described as having ‘outside the box’ thinking
11. Proven skills in software design and development, preferably using Java (J2EE) and/or JavaScript
12. Experience of working using Agile development principles and methods
13. Capable of self-motivation and direction, able to work flexibly with minimal guidance
14. Confidence and ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences on sometimes complex issues
15. An active Enhanced DV clearance, or the ability and willingness to undergo the clearance process
