How you'll make a difference
As a Housing Assistant, you will be working to provide safe emergency accommodation and relieve homelessness within South Gloucestershire. You will be assisting households into temporary and longer-term accommodation, contributing to the council’s statutory duty.
What you will be doing
* It will be your responsibility to identify and assess suitability of offered accommodation for households.
* Regularly, you will lead the sign-up processes and ensure documents are accurate.
* It will be key for you to maintain accurate electronic records for all households and placements within emergency accommodation and private sector access schemes.
* You will assist with rent collection and maintaining budgets/financial information.
What we need from you
* It is essential you hold an NVQ 3 qualification or have equivalent housing and support experience.
* Due to the nature of this role, you must have relevant practical experience in administration and proven high levels of customer service.
* We require you to have general knowledge of the relevant housing legislation.
* You will have an ability to confidently use IT systems, databases and Microsoft packages.
What you need to know
* This is a permanent position.
* This is a full time role, working 37 hours per week.
