Our client are a Limavady based subsidiary of a global plc and have grown over the past 25 years into one of the leading packaging distributors on the island of Ireland. They are recruiting for General Manager to lead & develop their team, with a focus on co-ordinating and directing activities to achieve/exceed agreed targets and growing sales and profitability in partnership with key customers and suppliers
Responsibilities
·Develop the team to achieve the key business objectives, communicating the vision and strategy to ensuring their understanding of the business vision.
·Maintain trusted relationships with key customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
·Prepare and implement strategic business plans by developing cost-effective operations and market development activities
·Working closely with supplier partnerships to identify and lead new product development (NPD) to complement and expand our unique market position
·Support the sales team with Key Customer relationships and contract negotiations to grow the business both organically and by acquiring new business sales.
·Develop Digital solutions to support business growth and customer needs
·Drive profitability and business growth though a compelling customer value proposition and offering.
·Margin control, ensuring they are in line with budget expectations and increases passed when required
·Ensure that KPI’s and controls are maintained to drive the appropriate service levels expected of the business by its customer base
Ideal Candidate
·Proven experience in a senior management role.
·Demonstrable experience in developing strategic business plans.
·Strong understanding of finance, profitability, and measures of performance.
·Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
·Drive a naturally inquisitive nature as regards analytical and commercial reviews of
key business functions
·Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
·Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
·A knowledge of the retail market in Northern Ireland.
