Overview
Salary: £22,478.40- £26,839.62 per annum (Dependent on Experience)
Hours of Week: 40 | Contract Type: Permanent – Term Time Only
Requirements
* Demonstrable levels of numeracy & literacy equivalent to GCSE (A-C) or NVQ Level 2 (or by test).
* Effective computing skills for both teaching and management.
* Relevant work experience in a similar background within a Primary/Secondary setting.
* Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities.
* The ability to maintain and develop a ‘culture of vigilance’ with regard to safeguarding and child protection.
* To build positive relationships with both student and parents/carers.
As a Teaching Assistant you will
* Motivating, engaging and encouraging the pupil(s) as required by providing levels of individual attention, reassurance and help with learning tasks as appropriate to pupils’ needs.
* Assisting in developmental areas, e.g. speech and language, reading, spelling, numeracy, handwriting/presentation etc.
* Promoting the acceptance and inclusion of the pupil with SEN and encouraging pupils to interact with each other in an appropriate and acceptable manner.
* Monitoring the pupil’s response to the learning activities and, where appropriate, modifying or adapting the activities as agreed with the teacher to achieve the intended outcomes.
* Under the direction of the teacher, carrying out and reporting on systematic observations of pupils to gather evidence of their knowledge, understanding and skills: enabling the teacher to make judgements about each pupil’s stage of development.
* Knowing and applying school policies on Child Protection, Health and Safety, Behaviour, Teaching and Learning, Equal Opportunities etc.
* Complying with legal and organisational requirements for maintaining the health, safety and security of yourself and others in the learning environment.
