I am currently recruiting on behalf of a highly respected Tier 1 Main Contractor with an outstanding reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects across the South. Their portfolio ranges from medium-sized developments through to some of the regions largest and most recognisable schemes, with current project values reaching up to £60 million.
With a regional turnover exceeding £120 million, this contractor is widely recognised within the industry for consistently delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Due to an upcoming retirement and a number of internal promotions, a rare opportunity has arisen for an Estimator or Assistant Estimator to join their established commercial team. This position would suit either:
* An Assistant Estimator looking to take the next step in their career
* An established Estimator seeking a long-term opportunity with clear progression prospects
The company is renowned for having one of the strongest training and development programmes in the UK construction industry, alongside exceptionally low staff turnover across the South Coast region. This is genuinely an opportunity to build a long-term career within a stable and progressive business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions
* Reviewing drawings, specifications, and project documentation
* Producing take-offs and pricing schedules
* Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotations
* Assisting with bid preparation and tender adjudications
* Identifying value engineering opportunities and commercial risks
* Supporting senior estimating staff on larger projects
* Maintaining strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners
* Contributing to successful project wins across a variety of sectors
Requirements:
* Previous experience within construction estimating
* Main contracting experience preferred
* Strong numerical and analytical skills xsngvjr
* Excellent communication and organisational abilities
* Ambition to progress within a leading contractor
* Relevant construction qualification beneficial but not essential
