Priory Hospital East Midlands provide acute and psychiatric intensive care services to those in need - Comprising of 2 Acute wards both with 9 beds and a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) with 10 beds. We are dedicated to providing innovative, high quality care, which will enable patients’ recovery and re-engagement with the community. We provide services for local NHS patients and out of area patients from the NHS. Our wards offer assessment and treatment to females with a broad range of mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, stress, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia and personality disorders.

As a core member of the catering team you will assist with the provision of a catering service within a Priory Group Service with particular emphasis on the planning, preparation, cooking and serving of meals, ensuring all activities and operations comply with operational standards and statutory regulations.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
13. Undertakes the planning, preparation and cooking of meals, taking account of any special requests or dietary requirements within the unit. • Ensuring operational standards comply with the company’s Food Safety policies and guidelines and statutory regulations.
14. Takes full shift responsibility for the catering operation (in the absence of the Head Chef).
15. Ensures the cost-effective and efficient control of stock including placing orders for food products and the checking/reconciliation of deliveries.
16. Monitors and adapts food production ensuring that there is a minimum amount of wasted food.
17. Supports the Head Chef to research, develop and create varied and interesting menus, which take account of healthy eating guidelines and any dietary requirements of the particular resident group.
18. To ensure that wherever possible the people who use the service are provided with variety and choice, with full regard for dietary, nutritional and religious requirements, adapting to the changing needs of the people who use the service so their diets can be amended accordingly when needed.
19. Responsible for food safety standards and the standard of kitchen cleaning.
20. Experience producing meals for large groups on time and to budget
Experience:
21. NVQ2 or equivalent & basic qualification in food hygiene
22. Experience within a professional kitchen environment
23. Ability to organise and prioritise workload
24. Knowledge of specialized diets
25. Excellent communication skills
