Teaching Assistant Grade 3 £24,404 - £25,183 pro rata 32.5 hours per week, Ter, Time Only 2 weeks Required as soon as possible Temporary contract - the post is to cover a period of maternity leave The Governing Body of this popular primary and nursery school seek to appoint an excellent, enthusiastic, resilient and motivated Teaching Assistant. The successful applicant will work with a group of children with additional needs in the Reception class. You will need to be committed to becoming an integral member of our staff team and will: • Have high expectations and a strong commitment to supporting children to make progress from their starting points. • Contribute to making learning personalised, exciting, memorable and enjoyable • Have experience and a keen interest in supporting young children with SEND and other complex needs • Fulfil the Durham County Council Grade 3 Job Description For further information about this post please contact the Headteacher, Mr Shields. The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post. Calculation of term time only plus two weeks’ pay Term time only plus two additional weeks’ pay is calculated on the basis of the following: • Number of ‘teaching’ weeks – 38 weeks; plus • Public (bank) holidays – 1.6 weeks (8 days); plus • Two additional weeks, inclusive of CPD – 2 weeks; plus • Individual leave entitlement - 5.4 weeks (27 days) or 6.4 weeks (32 days) Individual leave entitlement is calculated on the length of continuous service. Employees with less than 5 years’ service will receive 27 days annual leave. Employees with more than 5 years’ service will receive 32 days annual leave.
