Key Responsibilities: Supply Chain Strengthening: Research and develop prospective suppliers for materials, subcontract machining, and high-value capital equipment, enhancing our supply chain's robustness. Procurement Communication: Liaise with internal departments and suppliers, ensuring strong supplier performance and relationships, fostering effective communication channels. Supplier Evaluation: Evaluate key suppliers to meet business needs, objectives, and quality standards. Proposal Creation: Develop proposals and request quotes aligning with customer/project requirements. Price Negotiation: Forward plan and negotiate prices within project budgets, maintaining accurate internal costing formats. Strategic Planning: Collaborate with suppliers for product development and cost reduction plans. You… In order to be successful as the next Purchasing & Material Department Supervisor / Technical Buyer, you’ll ideally have the following skills and experience; Experience: Minimum 5 years in an office environment with a proven history in high-quality engineered products. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively in group settings. Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS Word and Excel; detail-oriented with administration processes. Commercial Awareness: A strong understanding of company products/services and market awareness. Personnel Skills: Self-confident, enthusiastic, and personable with strong team-working abilities. Organizational Skills: Excellent organization and time management skills with a commitment to accuracy and meeting strict deadlines. Problem Solving: Ability to make sound judgments based on data, providing effective solutions.
