We are seeking a dedicated and proactive PSA (Personal Support Assistant) to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality support to a young individual who's attending university at St Andrews. Duties include; ensuring their daily needs are met with compassion and professionalism. This position requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those we serve, while fostering an environment of respect and dignity.
Responsibilities
* Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
* Support clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety at all times.
* Help with meal preparation and feeding as needed.
* Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
* Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental well-being.
* Document client progress and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate personnel.
* Adhere to all health and safety regulations while providing care.
Experience
* Previous experience in a caregiving role or similar position is preferred but not essential.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
* A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Flexibility in working hours is desirable, including availability for shifts during evenings or weekends.
