ABOUT THE ROLE
Ensure the day to day running of the site and supervision of the Management Team. Grow profitable sales to ensure budgeted objectives are met and exceeded.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Responsible for the overall profit and loss of the site and shows an in-depth understanding of the business’s budget/performance and key financial ratios
* Develop and agree budgets and targets for the site and ensure delivery against these objectives
* People management involving the coaching and development of the site team to achieve the goals and targets set
* Coordinate inputs from procurement, sales, and distribution, where applicable, to enable Site objectives and produce supply to be controlled
* Monitor progress against the annual sales plan and act where necessary to ensure delivery
* Commercial trading in line with branch requirements
* Maintain up to date knowledge of the market sector trends, competitor activity and product lines
* Accurate management, reconciliation, and reporting of stock in accordance with Company guidelines
* Maintain and enhance the Company image by collaborating with customers, suppliers, and employees
* Ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures and all legislative requirements to ensure the legal operation of the site, including BRC where applicable
* Ensure SOX legal requirements are met, the necessary controls are in place and there is a clear segregation of duties and strong evidence to support overall compliance
* Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking and participating in relevant professional events
* Works with Group IT to continuously develop business system and enhance site usage
LEADERSHIP
* Responsible for the overall leadership of the site, including recruitment, line management, coaching, empowering, and regular feedback
* Plan, monitor and appraise direct reports outputs, developing relevant incentives and a climate for sharing best practice ensuring delivery of the annual budget
* Actively promote a positive culture and shows pride in Dole UK as a business
* A strong advocate of continuous improvement and demonstrates skill in managing change programs, encouraging, and motivating others to improve
* Is decisive and can make difficult decisions within a high pressured and fast paced environment, showing conviction and confidence

COMPLIANCE
* Site Compliance is a prerequisite for many Dole UK customers, and it should be seen as an opportunity to grow and develop the business by working in an exemplary way
* Guide the site management team to ensure processes and operations are carried out in a healthy, safe, and sustainable manner, complying with all internal procedures and external standards and legislation
* All sites should follow the Dole UK procedures for Health and Safety and Food Safety:
o Tier 1 sites should maintain their BRC standards and complete an annual BRC accreditation
o Tier 2 sites should follow the Dole UK procedures and complete an annual Dole UK compliance audit
* To maintain Dole UK standards and procedures, compliance training should be conducted on site, with support from the Dole UK Regional Compliance team
* Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of C.O.S.H.H, Health and Safety at Work Act, Risk assessments, Pest control and Food Safety and hygiene standards
* Ensure site compliance with Company Transport requirements and the EU Regulations
* Ensure SOX legal requirements are met, the necessary controls are in place and there is a clear segregation of duties and strong evidence to support overall compliance
* Ensure the site operates in accordance with the Company’s financial and HR policies and procedures
* Ensure site security arrangements are adequate to protect the business
EXPERIENCE
* A minimum of 5 years general management, preferably in the FMCG sector
* Strong leader, with demonstrable experience in Performance Management and team motivation
* Commercial industry knowledge
PERSON PROFILE
* PC literate, familiar with using ERP systems and Microsoft packages
* Customer focused - an innovative thinker with a flexible approach who is open to new ways of operating and can adapt to evolving business needs
* A high degree of ownership and problem solving, taking an organised and strategic approach to managing workload
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to interpret complex requirements and report in an easily understandable format

* Strong interpersonal skills, can adapt management style with an ability to engage and motivate a team of multi-disciplined employees
* Comfortable working collaboratively across branch and with UK management team
* High influencing and negotiating skills to achieve the best outcomes for the business
