We're looking for a Research & Partnerships Coordinator to help shape conference programmes, recruit expert speakers, and build sponsor relationships. Work around 10–15 hours a week, mostly remote, on a fixed-term contract to February 2026 (£13–18/hour) with the option to extend.
The Role
We are seeking a proactive and organised Research & Partnerships Coordinator to support the development of our programmes and events. You will conduct topic research, identify and recruit expert speakers, and engage potential sponsors and partners.
This is a flexible part-time role, ideal for someone looking to apply strong research, communication, and organisational skills in a purposeful project. It may particularly suit those returning to work, exploring a career change, or seeking meaningful part-time professional work.
Key Responsibilities
* Research emerging topics and themes to inform conference agendas and publications
* Identify, approach, and coordinate potential speakers (industry experts, academics, member representatives)
* Draft and manage speaker communications, biographies, and programme inputs
* Research and engage potential sponsors and partners; support sponsorship proposals and track delivery of commitments
* Build and maintain contact databases for speakers, sponsors and stakeholders
* Work with colleagues to align research outputs with events, membership and marketing activity
* Provide occasional support for event promotion (e.g. newsletters, social media, website updates)
Skills & Experience
Essential
* Strong research skills – ability to find, assess, and synthesise reliable information quickly
* Excellent written communication – professional emails, reports, proposals and briefs
* Confident verbal communication – able to engage senior professionals with credibility
* Organisational skills – capable of juggling multiple deadlines and priorities
* Attention to detail – accurate handling of names, technical content and records
* Initiative – self-motivated, able to work independently and follow tasks through
* Digital literacy – MS Office/Google Workspace, spreadsheets, email and other relevant software tools
Desirable
* Experience in research, programme development or stakeholder engagement
* Experience with sponsorship, fundraising or business development
* Familiarity with events, conferences or membership organisations
* Marketing or communications skills (newsletters, social media, copywriting)
* Familiarity with technical, scientific or industrial sectors
