Sustainability Champion
We are looking for a driven and hands-on Sustainability Champion with ISO50001 experience to lead energy and sustainability strategy for an established advanced manufacturing site in Telford.
If you are passionate about energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and delivering measurable environmental improvements within a manufacturing environment.
Contract: Permanent | Full-Time | 37.5 hours per week (Days)
What You’ll Be Doing
As our Sustainability Champion, you will take a hands-on leadership role in driving our energy efficiency and sustainability agenda.
Energy Leadership
Identify and deliver energy-saving projects with clear ROI
Lead ISO 50001 compliance and continuous improvement initiatives
Analyse and monitor energy consumption (electricity, gas, water, compressed air, etc.)
Develop cost-saving strategies and utilities planning
Drive MAFACT Energy Reduction targets
Promote renewable energy opportunities where viable
Lead energy awareness training and “Energy Walks”
Sustainability Strategy & Delivery
Lead site sustainability strategy aligned with corporate carbon neutrality goals
Support life cycle assessment development
Ensure compliance with OEM sustainability requirements
Drive waste, water, and carbon reduction initiatives
Manage sustainability KPIs and reporting
Lead MAFACT Sustainability Improvement activities
Develop business cases for sustainability investments
What We’re Looking For
You’re a proactive and confident engineering professional who enjoys driving measurable change. You will have current or recent experience working in similar role such as:
Sustainability Manager, Sustainability Lead, Energy & Sustainability Manager, Energy Manager, Energy & Carbon Manager, Environmental & Sustainability Manager, Environmental Manager, ESG Manager (Environmental, Social & Governance), Decarbonisation Manager, Carbon Reduction Manager, Net Zero Manager, Energy Efficiency Manager, Utilities & Energy Manager, Energy Optimisation Engineer, Energy Engineer, Sustainability Engineer
Essential
Engineering qualification (HNC or above)
Experience delivering energy-saving or sustainability projects
Project management experience
Knowledge of ISO 50001 or energy management systems
Experience in a safety-critical manufacturing environment
Strong analytical and organisational skills
Desirable
Degree in Engineering, Energy, or Sustainability
Knowledge of electrical, gas, and water efficiency technologies
