The IT Systems Development Manager will lead, develop, and enhance the Systems Development team, ensuring delivery of robust, scalable, and high quality business systems.
The role blends hands‑on technical involvement with team leadership, driving modern engineering practices, DevOps maturity, and continuous improvement across enterprise systems (predominantly ERP).
Responsibilities
As IT Systems Development manger, you will:
* Lead, manage, and mentor the Systems Development team to ensure high performance, engagement, and capability growth
* Oversee development, enhancement, and support of ERP systems (Infor / SAP preferred) and integrated business applications
* Apply industry aligned best practices across software development lifecycle, including design, build, test, release, and support
* Drive adoption of DevOps practices such as CI/CD, automated testing & release automation
* Provide hands‑on technical leadership when required, including solution design, code review, and complex troubleshooting
* Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and prioritise development activities
* Ensure solution architecture, documentation, and development processes meet organisational and security standards
* Manage vendor and partner relationships where technical delivery is supported externally
* Develop the team capability through coaching, training, and applying skill progression models

Education
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
* Strong background in software development, solution design, or systems engineering
* Hands‑on experience with ERP systems (Infor or SAP) including integrations and customisations
* Proven leadership of development teams, with ability to coach and mentor
* Strong understanding of DevOps best practices (CI/CD, automation, pipelines, version control)
* Experience within manufacturing or supply chain environments
* Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS)
* Experience leading multi‑location teams
* Exposure to Agile coaching or Scrum Master experience
