Communication Services Manager (Internet Manager)
This is a one-person department with a helper (crew member from another department) on the first 1-2 days of a cruise.

All brands:
Needs shipboard experience in a similar role (this is essential); Needs extensive guest services experience; Needs to be extremely PC, cellphone, and tablet savvy; Needs to be creative when problem solving and troubleshooting; Assisting guests/crew members to connect to WIFI (very busy especially the first 2 days of a cruise); Assisting with phone issues; Fixing issues with the tablets and/or PCs in the Internet Café; Problem solves issues with the Wi-Fi as they arise; If they can’t solve internet issue, report any technical issues to the ship's IT support team promptly.; May speak in front of crowds to explain the internet onboard; This person will be fixing internet issues and PC/tablet issues. They need to have this type of experience;
Privileges:
Specialty restaurants (NCL free, O&R must pay); Guest gym (not during peak guest hours); Guest café (not during peak guest hours); Host guest tables; Free internet including streaming;
NCL:
Upselling internet packages (commission on sales); Meet or exceed sales goals; Answering questions about charges to their account for WIFI usage; Answering questions about why their minutes have run out, adding minutes back to their account; Report any technical issues to the ship's IT support team promptly;
O&R:
No selling done because it is included. They get a bonus instead of commission.;
Details:
Contract: 24 weeks on / 8 weeks off; Cabin: Single. Might be double on some Regent ships; Uniform: Personal clothing. Business professional; Salary: $2,100 per month while onboard, plus commission/bonus; 3 stripes;
