Join our dynamic team as a Field Support Engineer and be part of an innovative environment Your responsibilities will include overseeing and conducting the deployment, commissioning, and maintenance of Sub Surface Sonar Systems on UK vessels, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of the systems through technical support and troubleshooting. Day to day you will: Be responsible for the Health and Safety of all Thales activities carried out by you and engineers you are leading: Completion of Risk Assessments. Completion of COSHH Assessments. Recommend safe systems of work. Be ultimately accountable for your own day-to-day welfare. Support to both Royal Navy and Export Platforms in Defect Rectification: Conduct and Supervise Front-line support including Fault diagnosis and testing as well as acceptance trials both in harbour and at sea. Provide On-Call telephone support to our customers. Write site visit reports. Support to both Royal Navy and Export Platforms Maintenance Periods / Refits: Conduct Pre-Upkeep Maintenance Assessment (PUMA) inspections. Conduct and Supervise scheduled maintenance activities Advise the Service Delivery Manager of stores required for the refit. Escalate engineering issues to the Field Services Manager or Service Delivery Manager as required. Write post maintenance reports. Weekly reports to the Service Delivery Manager Field Services Manager or Service Delivery Manager as required Activities undertaken. Upcoming activities. Successes, challenges, opportunities. Identify any support required from the project or department. Identification of your own personal and professional development and provide Technical Support, Leadership and be a Mentor to other Field Service Engineers. Compliance with all export control rules and regulations including International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). You will also perform additional ad-hoc duties that will arise from time to time that are consistent with the nature of this position. About you: Skills: Demonstrable experience in conducting installations and or support engineering preferably in a maritime environment. Demonstrable knowledge of complex systems. A working knowledge of project plans. Able to use a range of IT tools. Ability to train, coach and support other Field Service engineers. Experience: As a Principal Field Services Engineer you will have a significant track record of performing well in a relevant engineering discipline, preferably dealing with Complex Systems (Electrical, Electronic and Hydraulic) You must be capable of taking the lead in resolving issues, problems,questions and conflicts for your team You will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels in the spoken and written word Your experience will demonstrate your high level of self-motivation and the ability to work under pressure are vital Values & Behaviours: Innovate - Be motivated to search for novel and unique solutions.
