Role Overview:
Position: Qualified Teacher (Secondary SEMH / Challenging Behaviour)
Location: Lichfield
Contract Type: Full Time (term-time)
Working Hours: 08:30 - 15:30
Rate of Pay: £150.00 - £250.00 per day (depending on experience)
About the Role:
Are you a strong, resilient qualified teacher with experience working in SEMH or alternative provision settings?
We are working with a specialist secondary school in Wolverhampton that supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviour. Pupils often require additional emotional support, structured routines, and differentiated teaching approaches to help them succeed.
This role requires a confident classroom practitioner who can establish clear expectations, deliver engaging lessons, and create a safe learning environment that supports both academic and emotional progress.
As a Teacher, you will:
* Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across KS3 and KS4.
* Implement effective behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
* Support pupils' emotional regulation and social development.
* Work closely with support staff and senior leaders to implement EHCP targets.
* Create a structured and consistent classroom environment that promotes engagement and achievement.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS, QTLS or equivalent recognised qualification).
* Experience teaching secondary pupils with SEMH or challenging behaviour.
* Strong behaviour management and classroom control.
* Ability to build positive professional relationships with vulnerable learners.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE, YOU MUST:
* Hold Right to Work in the UK
* Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply for one
* Provide two professional, child-related references covering the last two years
