Senior Residential Care Practitioner Location: Derby Contract Type: Permanent Working Hours: Full-time 56.5 hours per week inclusive of sleep-ins (3-week rolling rota) Salary: £37,158.58 per annum (subject to increase upon successful probation) Driving Licence: Full UK driving licence essential Overview Our client, a well-established provider of therapeutic care for children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Residential Care Practitioner to join their specialist childrens home in Derby. Key Responsibilities Safeguard young people through risk management and therapeutic care. Provide nurturing care based on therapeutic parenting principles. Support children in daily routines including school, appointments, and activities. Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive home environment. Lead daily operations and chore rotas; support junior staff and co-workers. Act as key worker for young people, managing and reviewing care plans. Complete necessary records and reports within set timescales. Supervise Residential Childcare Practitioners regularly, adhering to company protocols. Comply with Ofsted and Childrens Homes Regulations (England). Ensure high standards of care and support within the home. Requirements Level 4 Diploma in Children, Young People and Families Practitioner (Residential) or working towards. Minimum 2 years experience in a childcare or youth setting with leadership responsibilities. Strong leadership skills and ability to supervise and support a team. Current, clean UK driving licence. Enhanced DBS and Right to Work in the UK. Understanding of the challenges faced in residential care settings. Skills & Competencies Strong verbal and written communication skills.
