Contract: Permanent with a 12 week probationary period

Salary: £18,000 to £22,000
Full time – Monday to Friday 8:20am to 4:00pm
Are you passionate about education and committed to supporting students to reach their full potential? We are currently working in partnership with a small SEMH School in Blackpool. They are seeking a Learning Support Assistant for a full time position starting as soon as possible on a temp to perm basis. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals to take on a new role and suitable for any candidates currently teaching in mainstream to make the transition into something new.
About the School:
The setting caters for children ages 11-17 with additional needs. The school has great facilities for vocational studies and great calming spaces for young people to relax and unwind in. The School is dedicated to developing students social and emotional development as well as their academic achievement. The school curriculum is well matched to pupils’ needs and the children have a range of special educational needs and emotional trauma.
The role:
We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join their already established team supporting young people with additional needs. Due to the nature of the role the school is ideally looking for a Teaching Assistant OR individuals that have relevant experience working with pupils in a School, Youth Centre, Residential care setting or similar role. Each day will be different from the last therefore being adaptable is very important.
Key responsibilities for a Learning Support Assistant:
- Building nurturing and meaningful relationships with pupils with SEND
- Experience and a good understanding of behaviour management and how to implement this into your practice
- Understand the different requirements of individual SEN and adapt accordingly
Requirements for a Learning Support Assistant:
- Experience working with young people
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, colleagues, and parents effectively.
- Additional skills such as Sport, Music and Art are a bonus
