Salary Range: £23,335 to £24,275 per annum (actual salary), dependent on experience.

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapy Assistant (SaLTA) to join our highly skilled team.
This is an exciting opportunity to support pupils with speech, language, and communication needs and to work directly under the guidance of our onsite Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT).
The Role
As a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant at St Edward's, you will:
* Work with individual pupils and small groups to deliver targeted communication, language, interaction, and social‑communication interventions.
* Support pupils to access learning by developing communication confidence, independence, and functional skills.
* Assist the Speech and Language Therapist with pupil observations, monitoring progress with individual pupil targets and resource development.
* Keep a clear accurate record of therapeutic sessions with pupils.
* Contribute to a communication‑rich environment, using visual supports, communication aids, and structured strategies.
* Support pupils across classrooms, therapy rooms, and wider school settings, including during transitions and unstructured times.
* Build positive, trusting relationships that support both communication development and emotional wellbeing.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and pastoral colleagues to implement agreed strategies and promote pupil success.
* Support colleagues in the day to day running of the Bridge therapeutic department and wider school events as required.
What we are looking for
We are seeking a compassionate, motivated professional who:
* Has experience supporting children or young people with communication needs, learning difficulties, or additional SEND.
* Communicates clearly and demonstrates a calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
* Understands (or is eager to learn) communication strategies, such as visual supports, language scaffolds, social‑communication approaches, and structured interventions.
* Can work independently under guidance, taking responsibility for the progress of pupils in their care.
* Work as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
* Is passionate about supporting young people to develop confidence, resilience, and the communication skills they need to thrive.
* Has secure skills in English, Mathematics, and ICT.
