We currently have a Band 6 Sister Vacancy on Sophie Day assessment Unit.
Sophie’s Place on the Winchester site is an Ambulatory Care Unit where children, who require a specialist Paediatric Consultation, can be seen and assessed. These children are referred from GP’s, Emergency Department, Community Children’s nurses, School Nurses and Health Visitors.

Main duties of the job
Our band 6 team lead the day to day delivery of high quality care to children and young people with a range of clinical needs, including those with medical and surgical complaints. No two days are the same!
As a band 6, you would be responsible for the line management of a team of band 5 nurses and band 3 health care support workers. Alongside this, your team would be the lead on various elements of ward setup and safety, and for a number of clinical link roles. This allows all team members to have an input in constantly evaluating and developing our services
We actively provide our nurses with the opportunities to develop within our teams. Do you feel ready for career progression but wish to have support in developing your leadership skills. Are you an enthusiastic nurse who is able to foster inter-professional team working using excellent interpersonal and leadership skills?

Training & Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Professional UK registration e.g. RSC, CHDip, NMCerbal
2. Project management learning and/or development
3. Formal training &/or experience in mentorship
Desirable criteria
4. Additional Post graduate learning in specialist field including masters degree or working towards
Experience & Knowledge
Essential criteria
5. Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD) clearly recorded for professional profile
6. Understanding of Health Environment policies and legislation including Clinical, HR, E&D, Governance
7. Evidence of significant post registration clinical work experience

8. Experience of project management for policy development or large scale projects
