Position: Technical Support Engineer
Location: Omagh
Reporting to: Lead Technical Support Engineer
Hours of Work: 39¾ hours per week
Join our team at Terex Omagh and embark on an exciting opportunity to be part of our global helpdesk team working in a busy, rewarding environment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their skills and understanding of our equipment to help our dealers report and establish root causes of machine issues, to keep machines working and the customers happy with our machine offerings. As a technical support engineer, you will be mainly desk-based, with opportunities for global travel to support our customers and dealers, and to assist with the development and testing of new products.
What you’ll do:
Main Duties & Responsibilities
1. Provide technical support to the Finlay/Prostack/MDS/Magna dealers & customers via telephone and internet-based MP Helpdesk (CRM).
2. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults in collaboration with dealer service teams.
3. Work with engineering & quality teams to ensure timely resolution of issues for product improvements.
4. Perform root cause analysis on issues reported through service, warranty, and helpdesk.
5. Create and verify technical procedures and standard operating procedures.
6. Maintain service reference guides, dealer PDI, and commissioning documentation.
7. Assist with new product development through service visits to prototypes.
8. Support product and service safety teams with ongoing projects.
9. Support field service team with worldwide travel when required.
What you’ll bring:
Experience & Qualifications
* Proven experience in a customer-facing environment.
* Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
* Experience working in mechanical or electrical engineering environments.
* Experience with installation & maintenance of heavy plant/machinery.
* Knowledge of 3-phase electrical control systems, including AC inverters, is advantageous.
* Experience in quarry/crushing & screening industry is advantageous.
* Further education in mechanical or electrical systems is advantageous.
* Degree-level education is advantageous.
