As we evolve our approach to engineering design and production, we are seeking a visionary and hands-on Engineering Resource Manager to ensure we have the right flow of trained Engineering staff.
About the Role: As an Engineering Resource Manager, you will be responsible for leading the ongoing enhancement of our engineering organisational capacity. This includes evaluating resource needs, developing strategic plans, supporting recruitment, maximising internalisation, building connections, and coordinating resources and performance.
You will report directly to the Engineering Director. Location is flexible.
Responsibilities:
1. Forecasting: Lead resource demand forecasting with support from Regional Engineering Leads for a 3 to 5-year outlook, including workload visibility and stability reports.
2. Meeting Demand: Develop strategic resourcing plans, establish a supply of capable designers, and support closing gaps between resource supply and demand, including skills mismatch.
3. Supporting Recruitment: Support recruitment campaigns, coordinate technical interviews, and find innovative ways to secure and retain resources while maintaining GDPR compliance.
4. Internalisation, Offshore, External: Maximise internationalisation of design, coordinate between design houses, provide pipeline visibility, and support commercial and recruitment strategies.
5. Sustainable Supplier Relationships: Maintain trusting relationships with internal companies and external design houses.
6. Building Connections: Represent Engineering at Building Connections events and foster connectivity across Engineering teams.
7. Control and Coordination: Manage cross-regional resource allocation, motivate collaboration, ensure effective work environment, clarify roles, monitor utilisation, and keep organograms up to date.
8. Graduate and Apprenticeship Intake: Lead initiatives for graduate and apprenticeship programs and support the Engineering Skills Group.
9. Evaluation: Conduct annual salary reviews, support monitoring of engineering leaver interviews, and identify measures to automate attendance and performance monitoring.
